The WIPAHS Knowledge Exchange Conference 2026 successfully brought together researchers, policymakers, practitioners and stakeholders from across Wales for a day of learning, collaboration and knowledge sharing focused on improving physical activity, health and wellbeing. Hosted at Cardiff City Stadium, the conference featured inspiring keynote presentations from Baroness Tanni Grey-Thompson and Professor Charlie Foster OBE, alongside engaging workshops, real-world case studies and discussions on topics including equity, women’s health, mental health, social value and the implementation of national strategy in Wales.

This morning, our Population Level Change Co-Lead, Dr Michaela James, joined BBC Radio Wales Breakfast to discuss the growing challenge of extreme heat in schools and the importance of creating indoor learning environments that are fit for a changing climate. As temperatures continue to rise, it’s increasingly important that we consider how our schools can protect the health, well-being and learning of children and staff alike.
