Following 14 yrs in the Royal Navy, Malcolm joined the NHS in 1987 becoming a Health Promotion Specialist in 1995. In 2004 he became the NPHS lead for Physical Activity. Malcolm represented PHW as an executive board member of EuroHealthNet and was a member of the European WHO Health Enhancing Physical Activity Network where he jointly chaired the working group on Promoting Physical Activity in Health Care settings. He has been a member of three NICE guideline development groups and was the country contact for the GOPA Physical Activity Report Card. Since retiring in 2019 he has published his first novel, volunteers a day a week with FareShare Cymru and is an Honorary Associate at Swansea University.
